Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The Provist of West Dunbartonshire, Provost Douglas McAllister is saddened to learn of the death of her magesty Queen Elizabeth II. All Flags will be lown at half mast and a book of condolence will be made available at Muncipal Buildings Dumbarton/ Clydebank Town Hall.

A native of Coulter in Lanarkshire, "Sanny" came to Clydebank in 1934 to take up the position of Head Gardener at the Singer Factory. An officer in the Singer Home Guard, he was awarded a George Medal for his actions during the Clydebank Blitz in fighting a fire in the factory.
