Report a change in circumstances

Before you begin

It's your responsibility to let us know if you move to a new address within West Dunbartonshire or move away from West Dunbartonshire.

You must tell us your old and new addresses. This is to make sure you're not charged Council Tax for a property you're no longer responsible for.

Use our online form to tell us about a change of address, circumstances or personal details that might affect how much Council Tax you pay.

Report a change

Depending on your circumstances, some or all of the following may be relevant to tell us.

You should also tell us if:

  • someone joins or leaves the household
  • the property becomes empty and unfurnished
  • there is any other change that may affect your entitlement to reductions.

Owning your property

  • the sale completion date of the your previous property/new property or both
  • the new owner's full name of your sold property/the previous owner's name of your new property
  • any relevant forwarding addresses
  • exact dates for when either property was empty and unfurnished

Renting your property

  • when your previous tenancy agreement ended and your new agreement began
  • your landlord or managing agents name and address
  • any relevant forwarding addresses
  • exact dates for when either property was empty and unfurnished
