Under Section 89 of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act local authority approval is required to permit the use of a raised structure for standing or seated accommodation. A raised structure is a platform, stand, staging or other similar structure and Building Standards will inspect to determine that the structure is safe, secure and has sufficient provision for means of escape during a fire or other emergency.
The application fee for a Section 89 certificate is £402.00.
