West Dunbartonshire residents are being encouraged to share their experiences of recycling in an online survey.
Feedback received as part of the survey, which opens on March 15, will help shape future Council services as well as supporting ambitions for a net zero future.
Last year, the Council launched its Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan in response to the global climate emergency, setting a long term objective and series of actions for West Dunbartonshire to become net zero by 2045.
A key priority in the action plan is to encourage and support residents to recycle.
The survey will allow the Council to understand the challenges that prevent residents from recycling, why recyclable materials are deposited in general waste bins and what actions it can take to support increased recycling.
Councillor Iain McLaren, Convener of Infrastructure, Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “With the help of our residents we already recycle 45% of our waste, and with the climate emergency in mind alongside our ambitions of becoming a net zero organisation, we want to ensure we make it as easy as possible to recycle even more.
“I’d encourage all residents to participate in the survey – whether you recycle regularly or have never done so before, your views, opinions and attitudes towards recycling will be extremely helpful.”
Councillor Diane Docherty, Vice Convener of Infrastructure, Regeneration and Economic Development added: “Not only is recycling much better for our environment, it can also help the Council save money which can then be invested in other services and facilities. That is why we want to prioritise recycling and understand our residents’ thoughts on it.
“The survey should only take around 10-15 minutes to complete but your feedback could shape services that are in place for years to come.”
The survey opens on March 15 and runs for six weeks, closing on April 19.
