Strategic Sites

West Dunbartonshire is an economically competitive area within the West of Scotland containing several important strategic investment locations along the Clyde waterfront and at Lomondgate.

The Council is committed to encouraging and supporting the continued investment of its strategic sites and making West Dunbartonshire a place where people choose to live, work and invest.

Glasgow City Deal – Exxon, Bowling

Former Exxon Mobil site in Bowling transformed into a mixed used development, which includes the addition of new green spaces, a link road and public waterfront access

Carless – Scottish Marine Technology Park

The site of the former Carless Oil Refinery, close to Old Kilpatrick on the banks of the River Clyde, is being redeveloped as the Scottish Marine Technology Park.

Queens Quay

Located on the riverfront, to the south of the town centre, Queens Quay is one of the most significant regeneration projects in west-central Scotland.

Lomondgate & Vale of Leven Industrial Estate

Lomondgate is one of West Dumbartonshire’s Strategic Economic Investment Locations and Vale of Leven Industrial Estate makes up the northern part of Lomondgate.
